VISITATION

Born July 9, 1920, to Winnafreda Lutterloh and John Cecil Pennington in Gatesville, Penny moved to Waco when she was five and lived here all of her life except for a short period during World War II. She was a graduate of Baylor University where she met Roger Edens; they were married July 3, 1941.

AN AT-HOME MOTHER

An 'at-home' mother, Penny was a diligent worker in the PTA, serving several times as its president. A charter member of Lake Shore Baptist Church where she taught children and youth in Sunday School and directed the children's choir, she re-wrote and produced numerous popular musicals, adapting them to her local church and the community.

Penny took pleasure in writing poetry, particularly for special occasions and events, and was a member of several bridge groups. She enjoyed traveling and, along with her husband, served as co-president of the Baylor Heritage Club.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Edens Walsh.
