Louise Gilchrest died on Tuesday, December 20, 2005 in Waco. Graveside services will be 11am Friday at Restland Cemetery in Gatesville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm Thursday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Emma "Louise" Wamsley born June 4, 1948, the second of five children born to Ben and Trudy Wamsley in West Virginia. She attended School and graduated from Hickory High school in 1964. She married Larry Gilchrest on April 27, 1968 in Sharon, Pa.

Louise and Larry moved to Texas in 1971. Her family always came first in her life, and she was the foundation for the love found in her immediate and extended family. Crocheting was a favorite pastime and she loved animals. She will be remembered for her quiet sense of peace, her strong sense of compassion, and for lovingly guiding her family through good times and bad. Her heart and her home were always open to those in need. She was a very avid Dallas Cowboy fan, even after last Sundays game.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Larry Gilchrest; five daughters: Amanda "Amie" Carter and husband Matt Carter of San Diego, California; Jennifer and Brian Edwards and Jessica Gilchrest and Fiance' Nick Martin, Nikki and husband John Brake of Waco, Ali Gilchrest and husband Markum Rawls of China Spring. Son: Joey Gilchrest of China Spring. Mother, Trudy Wamsley and sister Janet Wamsley. Brother: Don and wife Rose Wamsley of Indiana. A very loving mother-in-law Lillian Gilchrest of China Spring. Very special nieces, Lacey and Amber Gilchrest. And Lifelong friends, Virginia and Harvey Fadal, David LaValley, Renee' and Alan Cluke, Jamie and Esteban Romero, and Cindy and David Audett all of Waco.

Grandchildren include Emmalea, Katie, Kyle Carter of San Diego, California, Josie, Angel and Robert Edwards of China Spring and Colton Rawls of China Spring. Jeffrey and Isaiah Brake of Waco.
