Ludmila Tubbs, 85, of Waco, passed away, Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Providence Hospital. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Crawford Cemetery with Father Theador Tsitsilianos officiating.
Ludmila Feodorovna Grizell was born June 20, 1922 in Harbin, Manchuria to Eudoxia Petrovna Grizell and Feodor Feodorovich Grizell. She met Clifford Marvin Tubbs at a Naval Officers' Ball in Shanghai, China. They were married in Coryell County on March 22, 1947. Ludmila worked at the Health Camp for many years and later became a real estate broker in Waco. Despite having suffered a stroke in 1982 followed by many years of increasingly ill health, she retained a strong will to live. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, buying and selling collectibles and reading her Bible. She was a member of the Russian Orthodox faith.
Ludmila is preceded in death by her husband who passed away in 1992.
She is survived by her daughters; Linda Marie Tubbs-Pardesi of Temple, Sylvia Tubbs of Austin, Emma Virginia Tubbs of Hewitt and Lucy Loraine Tubbs of Waco; sisters; Angelika Shaida of Bischkek, Kyrgyzstan and Luba Podudalo of Kazakhstan; grand-daughters, Veronica Stiteler of Phoenix, AZ and Vanessa Manten of Ventura, CA; several nephews and nieces including Maria Castana of Sydney, Australia and two great-grandchildren.
