Ludwig Mortimer Dyson, Sr.
August 28, 1920 – February 16, 2006
Ludwig Mortimer Dyson, Sr., 85, of Speegleville, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2006 in St. Catherine's. Services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006 at the OakCrest Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Joe Bailey, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Friday, Feb. 17, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Mr. Dyson was born August 28, 1920, on Pecan Island, Louisiana and had lived in Speegleville since 1983.
Prior to moving to Waco, the Dysons spent many happy years working as partners in Dyson Marine Services in Rockport, Texas. They were able to combine their love of the coastal waters and petroleum industry-related businesses with their families, making each one of them an integral part of everything they accomplished. In addition they spent countless hours together working in their church and many related ministries. They spent the remainder of their retirement years here in Waco close to their children and grandchildren.
Mr. Dyson was preceded in death by his parents, Peter Dyson and Eula Lee Morgan Dyson; wife, Beverly Cessac Dyson, and four sisters and three brothers.
He is survived by his son, L. M. Dyson, Jr. and wife, Doralyn of Waco; two daughters, Sarah Dyson and Judy Ducharme, both of Waco; brother J. C. Dyson and wife, Irene of Lake City, Florida; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be L.M. Dyson III, Peter Dyson, Patton Lee Jenkins, Jerry Jenkins, Shannon Jenkins, and Galen Ducharme.
In lien of flowers, memorials may be made to the Speegleville Baptist Church, 469 Speegle Road, Waco, TX 76712.
