Luther "Tony" Tyrone Fisher

Luther "Tony" Fisher, 71, passed away Friday, March 27, 2009. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April, 1, 2009 at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at OakCrest Funeral Home.

Tony was born March 11, 1938 in Hamilton, TX, to Luther and Alpha Fisher. Tony moved to Waco after the first grade and graduated from Waco High School in 1957.

He took three months of trigonometry at Baylor University, and then started working for Neil Koos, county surveyor in 1958. He became the new county surveyor in 1979 and retired in 1988.

Tony loved music and played the guitar from the age of 11. He played with numerous bands around Waco for years.

He is survived by his wife, Marian; sons, Luther T. Fisher, Jr. and wife, Melissa, and Jimmy Glenn Fisher; daughters, Tina Louise Fisher Callanan and husband, Tim, and Teresa Lee Fisher Ezzell; step-children, John Taylor and wife, Jean, Jerry Taylor and wife, Donna, Jason Taylor, Janet Akridge and husband, Buddy, Joe Taylor, and Jeff Taylor; and many grandchildren, and great grand children.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Providence Hospice.
