Lyda Edrington

Lyda Belle Edrington, 92, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008 in Waco.

Private graveside services were held Thursday at Sunnyside Cemetery in Calvert.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at West Robinson Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Gross officiating.

Mrs. Edrington was born in Mart to Edward and Pearl Guynes Griffin. She grew up in Calvert and married Roland Leslie Edrington February 4, 1950 in Calvert. She loved Calvert where she was a bookkeeper for farmers and ranchers in the area. The family moved to Waco in 1956 where for many years she worked with Ed and Kent to run Edrington's Air Conditioning Service. She also enjoyed growing beautiful flowers. Lyda was a long time member of Grace Temple Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Lynn Griffin.

She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Ann Wardle and husband, Larry of Corpus Christi and Leslie Webb and husband, Kent of Axtell; sister, Mattie Jones of Waco; sisters-in-law, Avis Griffin of Katy and Ruth Garner and husband Bill of Longview; grandchildren, Brian and Susan Wardle; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Greg Blaisdell, Dr. Julian, Lake Shore Village Health Care, and Bluebonnet Hospice for their care.
