Lydia Mendoza

Lydia Nicole Mendoza, 29 years old of Waco, Texas passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022.

The viewing and services will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2022, at OakCrest Funeral Home. Lydia lived her life to the fullest and everything she did or set her mind to do. Lydia was attending Strayer University; she was going to graduate with her Master’s degree in Business Management in 2022. She worked for Ann Martin Company, and other companies where she worked from home. She was looking forward to a brighter future for her and her children.

Lydia was a light to everyone who crossed her path. She was always willing to help anyone in need, no matter what. She always wore a smile, even on a bad day; she would find an upside to it and laugh and move on. Lydia’s smile, and her laughter will be forever remembered. Lydia loved her children above all, and she also loved family very much. She will be dearly missed.

Lydia was preceded in death by her grandparents, Amanda Estrada, Febe Mendoza and John Mendoza; and nephew, Nathaniel Clabby.

She is survived by her parents, Gilbert, and Sonya Mendoza; sons, Dontavian Canada, Roderick Rose; daughter, Za’riyah Johnson; and sisters, and brother-in-law, Candice Mendoza Sotomayor and spouse, Hector Sotomayor, sister, Crystal Mendoza; nieces, Olivia Sotomayor, Taylor French, Trystan Frederick, Trinity Frederick; and a nephew, Tyson Clabby; and numerous aunts; uncles; and cousins.

The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, and prayers, and support during this difficult time.
