Mabel Winfred Oswald, 94, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Huguley Nursing and Rehab Center in Burleson. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at the Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation with the family will be 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Mabel was born on October 18, 1917 to Benjamin and Jeffie Lou Tuck at their home in Hill County. Mabel moved to the Waco area in 1976. She was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church. Mabel loved sports and anything competitive game. Mabel loved to play bridge, and she golfed and bowled as long as she was able, almost to her nineties. Mabel was an independent strong woman. She remained in Waco home until moving in with her son near Ft. Worth four years ago.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ingram Oswald.
Mabel is survived by her son, Robert Booker and wife, Shirley, of Crowley; grandson, Bobby, of Ft. Worth; granddaughter , Deborah George and husband, Rusty, of Crowley; great-granddaughters, Tiffany and Katelynn; great-great-grandson, Kaden; nephew, Louis Booker and wife, Ruth, and her four legged companion, Kattie.
