Magdalen (Mickie) Lang, 87, of Waco, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2011, at her residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Louis Catholic Church with Father Justin Nguyen as celebrant. Private burial will be at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at OakCrest Funeral Home, followed at 7 p.m. with a rosary lead by Deacon Greg George.
Mickie was born in Cameron to John and Bertha (Englert) Sutter. She was married on January 9, 1944 to Orlo W. Lang. She was a longtime member of St. Louis Catholic Church where she was a member of St. Veronica's Circle and St. Louis Parish Organization. For 18 years, Mickie was a volunteer at Providence Hospital. She enjoyed working crosswords, sewing, and embroidering.
Mickie was preceded in death by her husband, Orlo W. Lang; son, Richard Lang; and two brothers, Wilbert Sutter and Edward Sutter.
She is survived by her daughter, Pam Morgan and her husband, Leland of Waco; brother, John Sutter of Tupelo, Miss.; sister, Katherine Cox of Waco; sister-in-law, Lora Sutter of Irving; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels or Providence Volunteer Services.
