Earl Black, 71, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2006. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Western Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike O. Patterson and Rev. Brian Pendleton officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive guests at home.
Earl was born July 25, 1934 in Athen to Malcolm and Vela (Worsham) Black. He served in the Air Force. He moved to Waco in 1953, and married Martha Nell Cunningham Black on September 1, 1956. He was in computer management at the Texas Farm Bureau for 16 years before retiring. He was a member of the Data Processing Managerial Association. He had a deep love for music, sports, 84, and enjoyed beating his "brothers" in pool.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bobby and Billy Black; sister, Nita Germany, and son, Timothy Black.
He is survived by wife, Martha Black; daughters, Dee Dee Black of Waco, Jennifer Hale of Dallas, and Stacy Jones and husband, Johnny of Columbia, S.C.; grandson, Justin Black, and granddaughter, Taylor Hale.
Pallbearers are J.B. Banks, Sam Campbell, Ray Colclasure, Archie Pope, Richard Rosenauer, and Joe Yarbro.
