Manuel was born February 28, 1940 in Speegleville to Saddey and Bill Liendo. He proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps and was very proud to be called a Marine. Manuel retired from the V.A. Regional Office as an Appraiser after 27 years of service. He then went to work part-time at Connally Golf Course and later went to work for McLennan County in the County Clerk’s Office as a Deputy for 15 years retiring in September 2012. Manuel was a caring person and was loved by many. He loved his family with all his heart and had great joy in being surrounded by his children, grandchildren and most of all, his great grandchildren. He loved playing golf and fishing and of course, playing slot machines at the casinos. Everyone that knew him knew that Manuel would do anything to help others no matter what the reason was. He touched many hearts and will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Saddey and Bill Liendo; and two brothers, Bill Jr., and Jesse Liendo.

Manuel is survived by his wife, Mary H. Liendo of Waco; Son, Manuel Liendo, Jr., of Waco; daughter, Stephanie L. Ayala and husband, Oscar of Waco; brother, John O. Liendo of Waco; sister, Anita Veracruz of Waco; his aunt, Nadine DeLeon of Waco; grandchildren, Billy, Kristole, Manuel III and John Carlos Liendo and Amanda and Roman Contreras all of Waco; great grandchildren, Esteban III and Anthony Diaz and Aiyanah “Precious” Jimenez; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Manuel Liendo III, Roman Contreras, Raymond Salinas, Wally Salinas, Ricky Salinas and Troy Chavez.

The Liendo family would like to thank McLennan County Clerk Andy Harwell and all McLennan County employees for your prayers and support.
