MarBeth Hardin passed away on Monday, August 25, 2008 in Waco Texas. She was 92 years old. A private service and burial will be held by her family later.
She had many talents, but the most memorable was her unshakable optimism and gift for friendship. She believed in doing the fun things first, and worrying about the dull things later, or not at all. She was a loving wife and mother and a loyal friend.
She owned Olga's Dress Shop with her daughter Sally for many years and she loved her work. She was a wonderful salesperson and her customers loved having her wait on them.
She was lucky in her parents and the experiences in her life. She was born in Comanche, Oklahoma when it was still called Indian territory. She grew up in a loving family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins in a time when it was safe to roller skate all over town and drink nonpasteurized milk because you knew the cow personally.
She married the man of her dreams and made a home that he couldn't wait to come home to. She was a great cook and hostess for gatherings of family and friends. But most of all she was fun. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arien Beatrice Webb and Wilkes Asbury Webb; her husband, Howard Hardin; her daughter, Margo Hardin Stanton; and many dear friends.
She is survived by her sister, Frances Mallard; her daughter, Sally Hardin Odegaard and son-in-law, Tom Odegaard; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
