Marcella Tomaski
Marcella Tomaski, 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, March 9, 2012. Visitation will be 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Sunday at OakCrest Funeral Home with the rosary being recited at 7 p.m. by Father Raj.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception of Lourdes Catholic Church in Marcus Hook, Pa. with burial in Lawn Croft Cemetery in Linwood, Pa.
Marcella was born January 21, 1929, the second of eleven children born to Joseph and Marie Risso of Marcus Hook, PA. She was a long time resident of Upland, PA and also resided in Cape May, NJ, Winter Park, FL and Waco, TX. Marcella was formally employed at Rainbow Diner, Reynolds Springs, Sacred Heart Hospital, Dunkin Donuts, and K-Mart.
She was affiliated with the Upland and Parkside Fire Companies Ladies Auxiliary and Gold Star Mothers, she is a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary John Wesley Cross Unit No. 507 Norwood, PA where she was a past President and she is a standing member of the Franciscan order of St. Francis.
Marcella was preceded in death by her mother and father, son Michael Peterson, brothers Frances "Bo" and Bernard "Sonny" Risso, sisters Marie Casadia, Elenor Kupchick, Catherine Jones, Joann Risso and husband Julius Tomaski.
She is survived by daughter Jo Ann Japak of Winter Park, FL, sons John and W.H. (Pete) Peterson of Waco, TX, stepson Jay Tomaski of Pearland, TX, sisters Jeanne Brower of Brookhaven, PA, Bernadette DeMedio of Honolulu, HI, Margaret Staples of Killeen, TX, Helen Green of Marcus Hook, PA, twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Marcella was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church Waco, TX. In lieu of flowers contribution can be made, in memory of her, to St. Jerome Catholic Church, 9820 Chapel Rd., Waco, TX 76712 or Providence Hospice 4830 Lakewood Dr. Suite 2 Waco, TX 76710.
