Margaret Mills McDaniel, 81 of Speegleville passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at a McGregor care center. Services will be 10 am Saturday at OakCrest Funeral Home with burial to follow at Oakwood cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm on Friday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Margaret was born on March 18, 1926 in Waco to Richard Coke and Olivia (Rucker) Mills. She graduated from Waco H.S. in January of 1944. She married the love of her life, Bill of Akron, Ohio in February of 1944. After military service, Margaret and Bill moved to Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio where they raised two sons and two daughters. After 35 years they returned to Waco, her "home" in 1986. Margaret loved boating, camping, working in the yard, and everything outdoors. She was a loving wife and completely devoted to her family and friends. She was an active member of Speegleville Methodist Church. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, Donn Achberger; grandson, Brett Achberger and sister, Anne Underwood.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Bill of Speegleville; sons, Terry McDaniel and wife Jane of Morrison, CO and Mac McDaniel and wife Ethel of Carbondale, KS; daughters, Sue White and husband Sam of Beaumont and Peggy Achberger of Tuscaloosa, AL; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sister, Emily McKelvain of Waco; brother, Coke Mills of Waco.
Pallbearers will be Sam White, Dan White, Kyle McDaniel, Richard Mills, Don McKelvain and Lynn Webb.
The family thanks the staff of Westview Manor for the care and attention of Margaret. Memorials may be made to Speegleville Methodist Church, 606 Willow Grove Rd. Waco, Tx 76712 or a charity of your choice.
