Margaret A. Shiller

Margaret A. Shiller, 85, of Waco, passed away Monday, November 21, 2011 in a local nursing facility. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at OakCrest Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Ramsdell officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5 - 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 25, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard, Waco.
Margaret was born in Elgin, Nebraska to Milton and Ruth (Clark) Mason. She married Edward Vincent Shiller on February 17,1950 in Waco.
She worked as a secretary at McLennan Community College and later in the Chemistry Department of Baylor University, retiring in 1988. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waco, and faithfully attended the Odell Dudley Sunday School Class. Margaret enjoyed shopping, playing bridge and solitary, and participating in church activities. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who stood by her family during many trials, tribulations, and illnesses. Her family could always count on her staunch support, and she will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald Mason.
Margaret is survived by husband, Edward V. Shiller; two sons, John Shiller and wife, Nita of Houston and Bill Shiller and wife, Donna of Lorena; a daughter, Debbie Christian and husband, Jeff of The Colony; grandchildren, Chris Shiller, Brad Shiller, Jason Shiller, Annie Shiller, Whitney Christian, Rachel Christian, and Jessica Christian; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Dwight, Warren, Robert and John Mason; three sisters, Myrtle, Elaine and Gwen;
and sister-in-law, Donna Mason.
The honorary pallbearers will be members of the Odell Dudley Class.
