Margaret Torres

Margaret (Guerra) Torres , 74, of Waco, passed away at a local convalescence home on Tuesday, April 16, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at Oak Crest Funeral Home in Waco with Richard Joseph (nephew of the deceased) officiating . The family will receive visitors prior to the service at 12:00pm.
Margaret was born on November 4, 1938, in Fastrill, Texas to Sam and Bessie Guerra. She was the 5th of 9 children in the Guerra family. She was a proud graduate of Hudson High School class of 1957 where she was voted “Wittiest Girl” and participated in basketball and was a member of the choir.
She married the love of her life Gilbert Torres on June 27, 1960 in Waco, Texas, where they spent 53 wonderful years together. Margaret was a loving wife, and mother of 3 children , and grandmother of 2 and will be dearly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 siblings: brother, Sylvester Guerra; sisters, Francis Partida and Juanita Zamudio
She is survived by her loving husband Gilbert Torres of Waco, her daughter Theresa Tourk and son-in-law Tommy of Celina, Texas; Son, Joe Edward Torres of Lewisville, Texas; Son, David Anthony Torres of Waco; and 2 grandsons , Jeremy Joseph Alonzo and Anthony Edward Torres and numerous nieces and nephews .
5 Surviving Siblings: Gloria Hernandez, Delores Juarez, Ada Guerra, Sue Joseph, and Willie Guerra
Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny Torres, Tony Torres, Babe Torres, Edward Torres, and Joe Ray Torres.
