Maria Cervantez

Maria "Mary" Cervantez, 75, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 25 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.

Services
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2009 at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at OakCrest Funeral Home.

Her Life
Maria was born October 17, 1933 in Rosebud to Antonio and Juanita Vera Cruz. She attended Falls County Schools. She then married the love of her life, Emilio on September 9, 1953.

She worked numerous jobs in the Waco area including Simmons Candy Factory and the VA Hospital. Maria was a loving Mom, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. She was also a great cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers; 1 sister; and her son-in-law, David Sanchez.

Survivors
Maria is survived by her husband of 55 years; her 5 children, Janie Sanchez of Grand Prairie, Susie Gonzales, Joe Cervantez and Frank Cervantez, all of Waco and Valentin Cervantez of Dallas; 14 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers
Pallbearers will be her older grandsons, Papi, JoJo, Chris, Emilio, Tino and Alejandro. Honorary pallbearers will be Sebastian, Daniel and LaLo.
