Maria Garay

Maria Garay 73, of Waco, Texas passed away on Monday December 25, 2017 at her residence.

Funeral services will be 12 Noon to 2 pm Thursday, December 28, 2017 at OakCrest Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Maria was born in Mexico on August 15, 1944 to Gregorio Garay and Tomasa Rubio. She made her home in Waco, Texas. She was a good mother, and grandmother, dedicated to her family and was an outstanding athlete. She was a marathon runner, winning many trophies, and ribbons. Maria worked for WISD for many years. She was well respected in the community, and a good friend to all.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving children; Leticia Romero, Carlos and Ma. Concepcion Romero, Pompilio and Evy Romero, Beatriz Garay and Aaron Waits, Jose Severiano Romero, Marco Antonio and Nancy Romero, Ricardo Romero, Leonila and Joaquin Gonzalez, Lorena Romero, Cruz and Karla Romero: 36 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
