Mario G. Gonzalez, 81 of Waco passed away on Monday, August 3, 2009 at a local hospital. Services will be 2 pm Thursday at the First Spanish Assembly of God, 3301 Clay St. with Pastor Frank Alvarado to officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday at the First Spanish Assembly of God, 3301 Clay St. with the Prayer service at 7.

Mario was born on January 19, 1928 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Juan and Maura Gonzalez. He was united in marriage to Emilia Becerra on September 22, 1973 in San Antonio. Mario was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, son and a daughter.

Mario is survived by his wife of 36 years, Emilia Gonzalez of Waco; sons, Mario, Jr., Toni, and Juan Gonzalez; daughters, Amparro and Maura Gonzalez all of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico; 5 sisters; 5 brothers; 35 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; 3 step-daughters, Belinda, Lupe, and Caroline; 2 step-sons, Ralph and Johnny; step-mother, Aurora Gonzalez of San Antonio; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
