Martin Martinez Garcia, 62, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2014. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, October 27, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2621 Bagby Ave, with Father Benjamin Magnaye officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation and Rosary will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, October 26, 2014, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Martin Martinez Garcia was born July 29, 1952, to Joe and Angelita Garcia in Waco, TX. He was a graduate of University High and went on to college to receive a degree that dealt with computers. Martin work for W.I.S.D. for over 13 years. Martin married the love of his life, Angie Olivarez, September 13, 1974. Together they were a loving and lively couple, as they were one another’s dancing partners for over 40 years. They enjoyed traveling together, they’re destinations included, Paris, Germany, and New York. Some of his favorite things to do were gamble and play pool. Martin was a beloved father who was honest, giving special, loving, caring, funny, and encouraging. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his mother; Angelita Garcia; brother, Tony Garcia; mother in law, Lilly Olivarez and great-granddaughter, Triniti Grace Newton

He is survived by his loving wife, Angie Garcia; children, Linda Ramirez, Edward and Terrie Ramirez of Austin, Anthony Garcia and JoAnna Machado, and Lionel and Tina Daley of New York, father, Joe Garcia; brothers, Angel Garcia and wife, Terri, Leonard Garcia and wife, Olga, and Joe and Alex Garcia, sisters, Velma Garcia and Maria, Mary Martinez and Joe, Gloria Jimenez and Joe, Carolyn Garcia, Terrie Garcia, Yolanda Jimenez and Raymond, 22 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
