Martin Zapata Rodriguez, Jr.

Martin, 34, of Waco passed away Monday, February 24, 2025 at Providence Medical Hospital surrounded by loved ones. 

Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Sunday, March 2, 2025. Rosary will be at 7pm. Mass will be held Monday, March 3, 2025 at St. Francis on the Brazos Catholic Church at 10am. Cemetery Services will be at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.

Martin was born Tuesday August 21,1990 in Pinos Zacatecas, Mexico to Martin and Maria Rodriguez. He graduated from LaVega High School in 2008. After graduation he continued his education at MCC to receive his associate degree as a licensed veterinary technician. He practiced for over 15 years gaining experience and was currently working at Barkley Animal Clinic and Banifield Pet Hospital.

He loved animals, having many of his own. He will always be remembered as joyful, kind and loving. He was an amazing son, brother, uncle, grandson, cousin and friend.

He was preceded in death by both maternal grandparents; his older brother, Ivan Rodriguez; and more family members.

Survivors include his parents, siblings, paternal grandparents, as well as many uncles, aunts and cousins.
