Marvin E. Holcomb, 77, of Waco, passed away peacefully Tuesday night, January 6, 2003 in Scott & White Hospital in Temple surrounded by his loving family.

[b]Services[/b]
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Greg Way of Leroy Church officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque. A memorial video of his life will be shown continuously during visitation.

[b]Personal Biography[/b]
Marvin was born May 7, 1926, in Terrell to J.G. (Tobe) and Merle (Tunnell) Holcomb. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and later in the Naval Reserve.

He was married May 29, 1953, in Myrtle Springs, Texas, to Wilma Rose. He was a member of the Leroy Church.

He worked at CTIW for 37 years, then worked at Sturdisteel Company where he retired after five years.

Marvin was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved life and loved to laugh. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Gene Holcomb.

[b]Survivors[/b]
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Wilma Rose Holcomb of Waco; five children, Marvajo Hayden of Hewitt, Barbara Taylor and husband Odie of Lacy-Lakeview, Mike Holcomb and his wife Melinda of Crawford, Kenneth Holcomb of Waco, and Peggy Holcomb of Waco; brother, Ben Holcomb and wife Jan of Canton; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and his loving fuzzy companion, Missy, and a large extended family and many friends.

[b]Pallbearers[/b]
Pallbearers will be Ron Oden, Edwin Bates, Windell Cook, Pat Howard, Joe Summer, and Henry Slovak. Honorary pallbearers will be his former co-workers and members of Leroy Church.

[b]Special Thanks[/b]
The family especially thanks the doctors and nurses at Scott & White Clinics and Hospital for their care and compassion through the two and half years of his illness.
