Marvin Schroeder

Marvin Charley Schroeder, loved and cherished husband, father, "Opa", brother, uncle, and friend passed away November 2, in Waco. Marvin will be laid to rest at Waco Memorial Park, where graveside services will take place on Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Story officiating. Family visitation is at the Oak Crest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., Waco, on Monday, November 8, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.


Marvin was a resident of Waco since the age of 14, when he relocated from Riesel. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. After serving in the US Navy, Marvin spent his career working for Lone Star Gas and Owens Illinois Glass Plant. Marvin was looking forward to his 80th birthday in mid-November. Those who knew Marvin, remember him for his interest in others and for his kind and tender heart. Marvin is preceded in death by his son, Richard Craig, who died on December 12, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Bertha; his brothers, Robert, Monroe, and Edwin; and sisters Benita and Estelle.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 47 years, Beverly; a son, Marc and his wife Jenny Schroeder of Waxahachie; two granddaughters Alexis and Bailee; daughter-in-law, Michelle Schroeder of Waco; a brother Wesley; sisters Evelyn and Velma; and many other relatives, including many nephews and nieces.
