Mary Sleeper Donahew, 85, passed away Sunday. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Elm Mott United Methodist Church, 168 Leroy Pkwy, with Darrel Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Mary was born in Kansas City to John and Grace (Rotramel) Sleeper on November 27, 1921. She married the love of her life, James Patrick Donahew, Jr. on April 14, 1944 in Hewitt. Mary was a member of the Elm Mott Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jake" Donahew, Jr. on April 27, 2007.
Mary is survived by daughters, Marianne Donahew of Hillsboro, Diane Gray and husband Gary of Waco; brothers, John Sleeper, Jr. of Bryan and Julian Sleeper of Oklahoma City; sister, Neva Byers of Hutto; brother-in-law, Bob Donahew of Elm Mott; grandchildren, Traci Howard and husband Chuck, Captain Bryan Gray and wife Regina, Steven Gray and wife Lindsay, AFC Garret Gray and wife Shelley; great-grandchildren, Jordan Howard and Elizabeth Gray.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Howard, Steven Gray, Bryan Gray, Leroy Bates, Tim Tonkin and Tommy Brashear.
