Mary Ethel Goble Drennon died Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. Services will be at 2:00pm, Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Brad St. Romain officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 – 1:30 pm, Saturday June 9, 2007 at OakCrest Funeral Home.

Mary was the daughter of William Lee Goble and Maude Richards Goble of Waco. She was educated in Waco Public Schools and graduated from Waco High School. She attended the University of Texas and then married Glenn Drennon.

During her active life she served on numerous social committees which included Thursday Study Club, Historic Waco Foundation, Waco Symphony Council, Waco Cotton Palace and Brazos Forum. She also loved to play Mahjong. She was a faithful member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church where she played an important role in many church functions.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Drennon.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Donald Drennon and wife Robin of Dallas; grandchildren Kelly and Kathryn Drennon of Dallas; brothers W.L. Goble, Jr. and wife Ermis, John E. Goble, Sr. and wife Georgette and Charles Goble and wife Mary; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers include Mark Faulkner, Jr., O.H. Faulkner, Scott Faulkner, John E. Goble, Jr., Don McKinney and Theodore Simons.
