Mary Herdman
Mary Eloise Quarles Herdman, 97, of Waco, died, December 13, 2011. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, December 15 at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Chuck Treadwell officiating.
Mary was born February 21, 1914 in Waco to James Hays Quarles and Eloise Jane Quarles. She graduated from Waco High School in 1931 and attended the University of Texas. She married Orin Charles "O.C." Herdman April 30, 1938. A lifelong member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, started in the parlor of one of her ancestors, she sang in the choir for a portion of her life.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.
She leaves behind her daughter, Anne Herdman Sundquist and husband, Dave; her son, Charles William Herdman and wife, Rhonda; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
In lieu of floral arrangements, memorials are requested and directed to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 601 Columbus Avenue, Waco, Texas 76701
