Pat Horton, 79, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Providence Medical Center.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 20 at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Pat was born May 25, 1929 in Atlanta, Ga. to Walter Francis Trainor and Marie Goerner Trainor. In 1950, she began work for Shell Oil Company in Tulsa, OK. There she met C. B. Horton who also was employed at Shell Oil. They were married two weeks later in February 1950. Pat and C. B. were the proud parents of two adopted sons, Jeffery Alan and David. They moved to the Waco area where Pat began working for Rocket Dyne in McGregor for many years. In 1971, Pat along with her husband and son, Jeff, founded their family business, H&H Vending. Pat was a volunteer at Providence Medical Center for many years. She was a member of First Assembly of God for over 45 years. She was a loving Mother and wife. Pat's faith, love and commitment to God were evident.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Pat is survived by her sons, Jeff A. Horton and wife, Cathy of Crawford and David K. Horton and wife, Vivian of Marlin; sisters, Jean O'Conner of Las Vegas, NV and Ann Waldon of LaClaire, IA.; grandchildren, Seth Horton of Crawford and Jessica and Daebreaun of Marlin.
Pallbearers will be John DeFrees, Larry Nelson, Seth Horton, Jeff Horton, David Horton and Buford Goudeau.
