Mary Mccord

Mary Virginia Harris Akins McCord passed away on July 10, 2006 at a local nursing home. Graveside Memorial Services will be conducted at the McGregor Cemetery at 5:00 pm. Saturday July 15, 2006.
Mrs. McCord was born May 20 1914 in Hedley TX., to Sid E. and Jettie Mae Harris, she graduated from Hedley High School in 1930. In 1934 she married Charles Lack in Clarendon, TX. In 1938 she married Buster Walker in El Paso, TX. In 1940 she married Emmett M Akins in Carlsbad, NM. In 1942 they moved to the Rio Grande Valley where she lived until 1957. In 1957 she moved to Ventura,
California where she met and married Jack McCord. She moved to McGregor, TX in 1979. She was employed at EOAC in McGregor until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, two brothers Harold B Harris, Jack L. Harris, her husband of 22 years, Jack McCord, and her daughter Mary Francis Bolin.
She is survived by son Kenneth Akins and wife Bonnie of Mart TX., three daughters Barbara Johnston and husband Bob of Hewett,TX, Virgina Gayle Carr of Kender, LA. and Sandra Kay Cole of Mart TX., Michael McCord (Step Grand Child), 12 Grand Children, 27 Great Grand Children, 6 Great Great Grand Children, 2 Step Children and 5 Step Grand Children.
