Mary Ramos

Mary Jackson Ramos, dairy farmer, 77 of Bosqueville, passed away Friday, August 26, 2011, in Providence Hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, August 29, at OakCrest Funeral Home with Pastor Reed Justus officiating. Burial will follow in Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 28, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Mary was born July 29, 1934, in West to Julius and Frances Damm. She graduated from La Vega High School and attended Baylor University. She married Gene L. Jackson on March 21, 1954, in Elm Mott.

They lived in Bryan, for two years while he fulfilled his responsibilities in the Air Force. January 1, 1956, they went into a dairy partnership with Judge D.W. Barlett in South Bosque. They later leased a dairy in the Crawford community. In the fall of 1965, they bought a farm in Bosqueville and built a new dairy. They had five children together. In February of 1972, Gene was killed in a farm accident.

Mary continued with the dairy business and married Fernando Ramos in 1976. They had two children together. Their successful dairy business continued for 32 more years. She retired from the dairy in 2008. Mary and Fernando continued thriving farming row crops.

One of her favorite things to do was go check cows on the four-wheeler. Mary enjoyed going fishing with Fernando and loved family trips to Galveston.

She was preceded in death by her parents and Gene L. Jackson Sr. Mary was an adored grandmother and had 19 grandchildren, she was also excited of the on coming birth of her 20th grandchild due in February.

Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her husband, Fernando Ramos, sons, Gene L. Jackson, Jr. and wife, Rhonda; David and wife Jodi; Edward and wife Debbie; Mark and wife Penne, all of Waco, and Fred Ramos; daughters, Julie Golden and husband, Jeff from China Spring, and Yolanda Anderson and husband, Cory, from Waco; She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Lehmann of West and brother, Eddie Damm of Elm Mott.

The pallbearers will include Mary's grandsons, Kyle Jackson, Johnny Jackson, and Connor Jackson; son-in-laws, Jeff Golden and Cory Anderson; and family friend Serafin Perez.

Honorary pallbearers are Will Hammond, Bill Jackson, Bill Scott and Mike Montanez close family friends.
