Mary Willard (Bill) Smith Redding, 89, of Golinda, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Funeral services will be 2 p. m. Saturday, May 18, at OakCrest Funeral Home, with graveside services following at Rosenthal Cemetery. The Rev. Tom Pelt will officiate.
Mary was born June 9, 1923, in McGregor, to Herbert Lee Smith and Josephine (Parker) Smith. She married Robert Earl Redding June 9, 1939. She retired in 1988 after 31 years of faithful service to Owen Illinois. Mary was preceded in death by her husband.
She is survived by her three sons, Robert G. Redding, Colonel, U.S. Air Force(Retired), wife Barbara; Lloyd W. Redding, wife Paulette; and Leland R. Redding, wife Mary Nell; six grandchildren, Stephanie Redding M.D., Shelly Chudej, Robert L. Redding Lt. Colonel, U.S. Air Force , Dawn McKeand, Jeff Redding, and Nikki Laine, and 10 great grandchildren.
Mary was loved by her family and enjoyed spending time outdoors. She taught her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren the many skills that she had acquired in her lifetime.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert L. Redding, Jeff Redding, Greg Chudej, James McKeand,
James McKeand, Jr. and Ty Chudej.
The family would like to thank Ridgecrest Retirement and Health Care and Providence Hospice for the kind and loving care she was given.
