Mary L. Sanchez, 70 of Waco, died Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at a local hospital.
Services will be Friday at 12:00 p.m. in the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was Wednesday, September 10, 2003, at Oakwood Cemetery of Waco.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque. A memorial videotape of Mary's life will be shown continuously during the visitation.
Mary was born August 17, 1933 in Bremond to James Sanchez and Ignacia Martinez. She was a homemaker and had retired from Piccadilly Cafeteria. She never turned away a stranger and was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
She was also very independent and proud. Mary was a very special lady to all. She was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Cruz; a daughter, Tiresa Cruz, and a great-grandson, Dominic Noah Rodriguez.
She is survived by sons, Manuel Sanchez and wife Linda Garcia of Waco, David Felan and his wife Maria of Midlothian, and Roy Cruz of Waco; daughters, Julia Rodriguez and husband Pedro of Waco, Janie Ortiz and husband Bill, Aurora Molina and husband Tony of Waco, Irene Cruz of Hillsboro, and Lola Ramos and husband Evaristo of Itaska; brother, Joe Sanchez and wife Inez of Marlin; sister, Janie Gonzalez of Madison, California; 37 grandchildren, and 47 great-grandchildren.
