Mary Steger

Mary Jean (Kunze) Steger, age 53, of Woodway, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at her residence.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 29, at the St. Jerome Catholic Church in Hewitt with Father Rakshaganathan Selvaraj as celebrant. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, Texas.

The rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Friday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque, followed by visitation with her family until 7:30 p.m.

After the visitation, family and friends are invited to a reception at the Carleen Bright Arboretum in Woodway from 8 to 10 p.m.

She was born and raised in St. Louis. She was a former member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish and Resurrection Parish in St. Louis. She graduated from St. Anthony High School in 1972.

She is preceded in death by her father, Carl Kunze, and her father-in-law, Richard Steger.

She is survived by her husband, Gerard; children, Julianna Bullard, Gabriel, Nicholas, Kaitlin, and Victoria; grandson, Clayton Bullard; mother, Loretta Kunze; brother, Joseph Kunze, and sisters, Christine Kunze, Kate Meussen, and Marcia Savage; and her mother-in-law, Marie Steger.

Memorials made be to an educational trust fund for her children at Central National Bank 8320 West Hwy 84, Woodway, TX, 76712.

Born February 15, 1954 in St. Louis, MO to Carl and Loretta Kunze. Married Gerard Steger January 23, 1976. Siblings include Joe Kunze, Chris Kunze, Kate Meeusen, and Marcia Savage. Mother to Julianna (30), Gabe (28), Nick, (20), Kaitlin (18), and Victoria (15). Grandma to Clayton (4). Aunt to Timothy and Lauren.
