Mary Teresa Stinson, 91, of Waco, Texas, passed away, Monday, November 21, 2011 at her home.

Services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 23, at OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. John Blacklock officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at the Oak Crest Funeral Home at 4520 Bosque Blvd., Waco.

HER LIFE
Mary Stinson was born June 11, 1920 in Midland, Washington Co., PA., to Nicholas G. and Helen P. (Koromlan) Mehera. Mary worked in the Civil Service during World War II serving in the Pacific (Hawaii).

After returning home to Pennsylvania to spend some time with her mother, she moved to Dallas, Texas in 1951. She attended Dallas Vocational School to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She worked at the Dallas Baylor Medical Center for a while.

She was united in marriage to Wayne L. Stinson on January 16, 1954 at the First Presbyterian Church in Plano, Texas where she taught Sunday school classes.

After moving to Waco in 1961, she worked as a LVN for Providence Hospital for 19 1/2 years before retiring. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church of Waco, for 50 years, and also taught Sunday school.

She was a member of Central Texas Genealogical Society Inc., The National Association of Retired & Veteran Railway Employees Inc., Unit No. 51. She was a Leader for the Camp Fire Girls also a Den Mother for Cub Scouts for a number of years.

Mary contributed many hours knitting and sewing items for nursing homes and other needy individuals. She loved gardening, cooking, and caring for those she loved. She was a strong and hard-working lady who enjoyed helping and giving to anyone in need.

Her parents, three brothers, and two sisters and their spouses preceded her in death.

HER FAMILY
She is survived by: her husband, Wayne L. Stinson Sr.; daughter, Helen Louise Stinson Blacklock and husband John of McKinney, Texas; son, Wayne L. Stinson Jr. of Waco; eight (8) grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and favorite nephew, George Kramer of Dallas, Tx.
