Mary Teakell
Mary Ruth "Mother Mary" Teakell, 82, of Waco, our precious Valentine, passed away Monday, Feb. 14, 2011.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at OakCrest Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Donnell officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Thursday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Mary was born in Hubbard to Arnold and Jessie (Boykins) White. She was married February 13, 1946 to James Teakell. She worked for Owen Illinois, retiring in 1990 after 32 years. Mary never met a stranger. She enjoyed dancing, bingo, volleyball, and fishing, and she loved cats and flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Teakell; three sisters; two brothers; son, James Teakell; and a grandson, Michael Brown.
Mary is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Sexton and husband, Roland of Hewitt, Carolyn Goodwin and husband, Charles of Golinda, and Darlene Strickland and husband, Ted of Hewitt; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
The family especially thanks the fourth floor nurses and aides at St. Catherine's for their loving care.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren: Joe Bob Brown, Willie Strickland, Jack Dawson, Shawn Pullin, Curtis Dale Brown, Lewis Russell, and Thurman Brown.
