Mary Ann Thyen, 63, of Waco, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2009 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2009 at St. Louis Catholic Church with Father David Leibham officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
The rosary will be recited 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 18, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd., followed by a visitation with the family.
Mary was born August 11, 1946 in Minneapolis, Mn., to Theodore and Roberta (Carlton) Heller. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, and a former board member of the Waco Zoological Society. She worked at Opal's and later Massey's women's clothing stores in Waco for 15 years.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Anthony Thyen of Waco; sons, Dr. Andrew Thyen and wife, Danielle of Belton, Adam Thyen and wife, Nicole of Waco, and Peter Thyen of Houston; daughter, Catherine Haas and husband, Dudley II of Waco; father, Theodore Heller of Hawkins; mother, Roberta Heller of Fredericksburg; brothers, William Heller and wife, Sharon of Grand Junction, Co., and Todd Heller and wife, Kathy of Waco; sister, Susan Thompson and husband, Randall of Fredericksburg; and seven grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
