Mary Fred Wade
September 12, 1924 – October 14, 2015

Mary Fred Wade, 91, of Waco passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at St. Catherine’s Center. A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 17 at 3 pm at Coolidge City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, October 16 from 5-7 pm at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Mary Fred was born September 12, 1924 to the late William F. and Maggie (Lester) Smith. She and her late husband Ernest were longtime members of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. They belonged to two different motorhome clubs and enjoyed the traveling and fellowship with the other members. Mary Fred was also an avid seamstress and quilter.

Mary Fred was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, James W. Wade and Ernest E. Gaskamp; and brother, William F. Smith, Jr. and his wife, Janice.

She is survived by her son, Mike Wade and wife Evelyn; daughter by heart, Diane McEachern and husband Bob; grandsons, Chantz Wade and Taylor Clark; great-grandson, James Wade; and brother, J.L. Owens and wife Virginia; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at St. Catherine’s Center and to her caregiver, Paula, for the loving care provided to Mary Fred.
