Matt Yow, 25, of Lorena, died Sunday, May 4, 2008 in a tragic automobile accident in Waco.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 9, at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 8 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. A memorial video honoring Matt's life will be shown during the visitation.

Matt was born February 26, 1983 in Jackson, MS to Bert and Susan Yow. Matt attended Madison-Ridgeland Academy. In 1999, Matt and his family moved to Lorena. In March 1999, Matt received his Eagle Scout Award. He graduated from Lorena High School in 2001 where he was a member of the band his junior year. He attended Sam Houston State University. Matt served as a volunteer with the Lorena Volunteer Fire Department for a year.
Matt was currently employed at Landscape Supply Company in Waco. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lorena.
Matt made friends easily as he never met a stranger. Once you were Matt's friend, you had a loyal and true friend for life.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Esten Yow formerly of Raymond, Mississippi.
Matt is survived by his parents, Bert and Susan (Moyer) Yow of Lorena; brother, Eric Yow of Lorena; sister Lauren Yow of Lorena; maternal grandparents, Glenn and Peggie Moyer of Magnolia, Mississippi and paternal grandmother, Margaret Yow of Ridgeland, Mississippi. Matt is also survived by many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Jason Taylor, James Brock, Clint Walker, John Vickers and Jordan Yow. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt's brother, Eric Yow and Matt's cousin, Justin Moyer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the First Baptist Church of Lorena Youth Program at 307 E. Center Street Lorena, Texas 76655
