Melba Ruth Stroud, 83, of Waco passed away Friday, February 15, 2008 at a local care center. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. A memorial video honoring her life will be shown.
Melba was born in Leroy to John and Hester Fouts. She has been a life long member of the Salvation Army. She has followed Christ's admonition her whole life to help the poor, sick and afflicted, cloth the naked, and feed the poor with out regard for her own financial or physical means. She is preceded in death by her sons Kenneth Gumpert Jr. and Sylvester Stroud and husband William Lloyd Jr.(Curly) Stroud; and sister
Dorothy Lawson and brother John Wesly Fouts.
Melba is survived by her daughters Patricia McCutchen of Waco, Ruby Parsons of Austin, 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
