Melinda Joyce Boyd McBroom 51, of Waco passed away at a local Hospital on Thursday, March 29, 2007. Services will be 10 am Saturday at OakCrest Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Friday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Melinda was born on June 15, 1955, in Waco, Texas. She was the daughter of Joyce Boyd the late J.R. Boyd. Melinda married the love of her life, Bobby McBroom in 1987. Melinda graduated from Waco High School where she was in the Tiger Band. She also attended MCC in Waco.
Melinda was the owner-operator of Boyd Trucking and drove a truck with her husband Bobby for many years. She was preceded in death by her father, J.R. Boyd.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby McBroom; her mother Joyce Boyd; her brothers, Glen and wife Penny Boyd, David and wife Lou Ann Boyd, and Dana Boyd. Seven nephews and three great nieces.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children thru Karem Shrine 400 Karem Circle, Waco, Texas 76712.
