Melvin Breedlove

Melvin Larry Breedlove, 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 14th, 2022.

Visitation will be at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd, on Sunday, June 19th, from 5-7pm. Graveside service will be at Waco Memorial Park, Monday, June 20th, at 10am.

Melvin grew up in Bellmead, Texas, and attended La Vega schools. On November 10th, 1962, he married the love of his life, Alfa Mae Limon. They were married for 59 years, until Alfa’s passing in November 2021. They met at the Circle R in Waco, where they enjoyed dancing the jitterbug, polka, and waltz. In 1969 they adopted their 1st baby girl, Kimberley Renee, and a year later, a baby boy, Melvin (Bubba) Larry Breedlove Jr. Their family was then complete.

Melvin retired from the Texas Highway Department after 27 years of service. He had a passion for fitness, and attended the gym faithfully, where he never met a stranger. Melvin loved his family unconditionally and was most proud of his grandkids and great grandkids.

Melvin was preceded in death by his wife, Alfa; parents, Boyce and Myrtle Breedlove; sisters, Norma Jean Branstetter, Barbara Dean Kreder; brothers, Boyce Truman Breedlove, and David Breedlove. Melvin was survived by his daughter, Kim Holton and husband, Gary; son, Melvin Breedlove Jr (Bubba) and wife, Dee; grandkids, Cody Ryberg and wife, April, Allison Alderman and husband, Nick, Bryce Breedlove and Cade Breedlove; great-grandchildren, Bryleigh and Beau Ryberg and Logan Alderman; as well as many nieces and nephews. He attended Parkview Baptist church.
