Mildred Evelyn Bumpers, 92, of Waco, passed away at Lake Shore Village Nursing Home on Thursday, May 12, 2005.
Visitation with her family will be from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, May 13, at Oakcrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. Graveside Services will be held at Waco Memorial Park at 10 a.m. Saturday with Dr. Raymond Bailey, pastor of Seventh & James Baptist Church, officiating.
Mildred was born Mildred Evelyn Blackburn to Emma and Ed Blackburn on September 26, 1913, the youngest of two children. She has lived in and around the Waco area all her life and attended Waco Schools. She worked for Goldstein Migel in Waco for many years. Mildred was a long time member of Seventh & James Baptist Church in Waco.
She was preceeded in death, by her husband J.C. "Ted" Bumpers from Dawson, Texas, in 1973; her mother and father, and one sister Lola Caldwell.
She is survived by her sons, Norman Bumpers and wife, Annette of Houston, Larry Bumpers and wife, Linda of Waco; niece, Elizabeth Hodges of Waco, four Granddaughters, three great grandsons and three great granddaughters.
