Mildred Kuehn Griffin, 91, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 15, 2010 at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with her grandson, the Rev. Brian Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 14 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Mildred was born July 1, 1918 in Lorena to Albert Kuehn and Lydia Wittner Kuehn. She was married to Jack Griffin who was a Baptist minister. Mildred was employed as a sales clerk for over 30 years at the R.E. Cox Co. Department Store in Waco and was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; sister, Aleen Smith; and brother, Rogene Kuehn.
Mildred is survived by her daughter, Lydia Whitlock and husband, Tommy; son, Stephen F. Griffin and wife, Mary; grandchildren, Annette Whitlock, Perry Whitlock and wife, Tanya, Stephen C. Griffin and wife, Gloria and the Rev. Brian Griffin and wife, Kelly; great grandchildren, Jonathon Whitlock, Andrew Whitlock, Daniela Griffin, Ricky Griffin, Brianna Griffin and John Griffin; and her beloved dog, Molly.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Hillcrest Hospice, the caretakers at Lakeshore Village Health Care Center and to Dr. John Kosarek for their loving care given to Mildred.
