Mohsen Tabatabai, 50, of Waco, passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 at Providence HealthCare Center. A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at OakCrest Funeral Home, with the interment following at Oakwood Cemetery.
Mohsen was born April 9, 1962 in Garmsar, Iran to Reza and Kokab Tabatabai. He attended University of Tehran and received a BS in Cartography. In 1989 he immigrated to the United States to pursue the American Dream. He studied and received his Master’s degree in Political History at the New York City College. An intellectual by heart, Mohsen was a conversationalist, lively story teller, and avid humorist. Mohsen always had an enthralled audience and could light up the room with his tales and jokes. His ability to flavor the stories he weaved, was unmatched.
Mohsen was kind hearted and lived for his wife and daughter. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Mohammad Tabatabai; and sister, Farokh Tabatabai.
Mohsen is survived by his wife, Mahsa; daughter, Tara; brothers, Ali and wife, Firouzeh, Majid and wife, Mahvash, Masoud and wife, Parvaneh; uncle, Mahmoud and wife, Mehrijoon, brothers-in-law, Manuchehr, his wife, Manijeh, their children, Mana and Mahan, Ali-Reza his wife, Mojdeh, and their son, Farzan; numerous nieces and nephews; the Haghjoo, Khozein, Phillipson, Karampour, Hessari, Mohseni-Moghadam, Foroodi, Menking, Seirafi,Nadimi, Esfandiari, Babai, Karimzadeh, Nadi, and Nahvi families; the extended family at Furniture Outlet and Quality Furniture, and all of the family relatives and friends whose lives he touched.
