Montie Seals, 92, of Waco, passed away Monday, March 7, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2011 at OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Pack and Rev. Christopher Doe officiating. Burial will follow at Rosenthal Cemetery. Visitation with her family will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Mrs. Seals was born February 21, 1919 in Lorena. She served in the US Army during World War II and after her serving her country; she retired in 1989 after working as a beautician for 40 years. She married Horrace E. Seals, November 14, 1986. She was a member of the Vickery Chapter #1039 of the Order of the Eastern Star for 57 years and was a member of North Waco Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horrace E. Seals; father, Robert Will; her mother, Ethel Meier; dad, Henry Meier; brothers, Craven and John Bob Meier and Gus Will; and sister, Dorothy Steinle.
Mrs. Seals is survived by her brother, David Meier and wife, Jan of Waco; sister, Joyce Altemore of Sarasota, Florida; aunt, Edna Anderson; niece, Dawn Meier Rusek and husband, John of Waco; son, Melvin Day and wife, Karen of California; granddaughter, Michelle Smith and husband, Terry of Tool, Texas; several great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; and many cousins.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the entire staff of both Bluebonnet Home Health Care and Bluebonnet Hospice for their care of Mrs. Seals during her illness. In addition, the family would like to thank Dr. Gary Barbin for his compassion and care over the years.
