Myrna Mae Neal, 73, of Waco, passed away Monday, July 3, 2006, at her home.
Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, at the OakCrest Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. David Hyers of First Presbyterian Church officiating.
Burial will be at Killeen Memorial Park at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque.
Myrna was born in Hamilton to Mark and Beatrice (Barnett) Neal. She was valedictorian of the Hamilton High School class of 1951. She graduated summa cum laude from Texas Weslyan University, and later received a master's degree from the University of Texas.
She worked in the American embassies in Thailand, Brussels, Sri Lanka and Mexico. She returned to Waco and was director of the Region 12 Education Service Center before retiring.
She is survived by five sisters, Wilma Johnson and husband, Clifford of Waco, Nancy Schroyer of Cleburne, Janelle Byrd and husband, Ronnie of Killeen, Clota Cates and husband, Max of Chattanooga, OK, and Ann Fogle of Harker Heights; brothers, Loran Neal of Long Branch and Billy Neal and wife, Doris of Hamilton, and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Fogle, Blake Byrd, Billy John Byrd, Jim Johnson, Gary Bishop, and Doug Bishop.
