Nancy "Gladys" Crabtree, 85, of Cooper, Texas, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2008.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, at the OakCrest Funeral Home with Rev. James H. Sparks and Rev. T.D. Roberson officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 31, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Gladys was born September 1, 1922 in Midlothian to Amos Martin and Margaret Elizabeth DeBerry.
She was married to Rev. Luther E. Crabtree for 63 years. Rev. and Mrs. Crabtree pastored churches in Kountze, Hubbard, and Cooper.
She was a faithful solider of the Cross, a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family unconditionally.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; three sisters; a great grandson, Bryan Jacob Evans; and son-in-law, James E. Evans.
She is survived by the love of her life, the Rev. Luther E. Crabtree; three daughters, Margaret Evans of Waco, Carolyn Sue Brown of Coppell, and Chaplain Karen Kay Hulsey of Mexia; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and a host of devoted nieces and nephews.
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course. I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day and not to me only but unto all them also that love his appearing. (II Timothy 4:7-8).
Pallbearers will be Brandon Hulsey, Bradley Hulsey, Brent Evans, Terry Richard, David Evans, and Joe Cervantez.
