Nelda Montrose Patterson 71, of Woodway passed away Thursday, September 7, 2006 after a lengthily illness. Memorial services will be 7 pm Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at OakCrest Funeral Home with Msgn. Mark Deering Officiating.
Nelda was born on July 13, 1935 in Bald Praire, Texas to Lee and Dovie (Coker) Montrose. She married the love of her life, Bill Patterson, Sr. on November 27, 1952.
Nelda was a loving person and was loved by all who ever knew her. She grew up in Lorena and live in Waco all of her married life. Nelda had a smile that truly lit up a room and enjoyed entertaining and bringing together her family and many friends. Nelda had owned a shop at Spice for the past several years.
Nelda and Bill enjoyed their life together for over 51 years. They raised their family together, played tennis together, worked together and traveled the world together with great joy. She enjoyed her family, the theatre, Waco Symphony, and Historic Waco foundation. Nelda was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Georgie Betterton and Dixie Marie Castilow, brothers, P.W. Goolsby and James Lee Montrose.
She is survived by her husband Bill Patterson of Woodway; sons, Bill Patterson Jr. and wife Lisa of Waco and Robert Patterson Sr. of Hewitt; grandson, Robert Patterson, Jr. of Hewitt; Granddaughters, Megan Michelle Patterson of Waco and Karen Paige Patterson of Hewitt; sisters, Esther Brown of Waco and Carol Warren of Eddy and a host of Nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the MCC foundation, MCC School of Nursing Scholarship Fund, 1400 College Drive, Waco, TX 76708.
