Nettie Mae Wheat, 73, of Waco, passed away, Monday, April 14, 2008 at Providence Hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008 at OakCrest Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Pastor Van Vowell of Grace Temple Baptist Church with music provided by Ronald Long. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 5 p.m. to 7p.m. Wednesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Nettie was born on November 2, 1934, the daughter of Tom and Norma Toliver. She attended Waco High School. She was married to Marvin S. "Buck" Wheat Sr. on December 16, 1978.
Nettie was a member of Grace Temple Baptist Church, where she was active in the choir and served the elderly through hospital and nursing home visits. She also enjoyed reading and traveling. She was member of the Newcomers and Neighbors Club and the Go Getters Club at her church. She spent many hours celebrating life with family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband, Buck Wheat; her beloved sister Flo Nixon of Waco; son, Kim Korenek of Austin; daughter -in-law Cindy Korenek of Robinson; four step- children, Sam Wheat and Alan Wheat of Houston, Nelda Calloway of Austin, Susan Johnson and husband Steve of Shelton, CT. Her life included seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nieces Connie Johnson and Sue Johnson of Waco, and Carol Billingsly of Mesquite; she is also survived by her precious dog, Snickerdoodle and a multitude of loving relatives and friends.
