Nicolasa Garcia, age 93, of Waco, passed away Monday morning, July 19, 2010 at Providence Medical Center.
The rosary will start at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, at St. Francis of the Brazos Catholic Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Gonzalo P. Ferrer as celebrant.
Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the foyer of the church.
Nicolasa was born November 16, 1916 in Waco, Texas to Delfino and Antonia Garcia. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and was a member of the St. Veronica's Circle.
She loved to garden and grow pretty flowers. She graduated from Waco High School in the class of 1936 and attended 4C College receiving a Certificate in Accounting. She worked at Percy Medicine for 37 years in the laboratory and in the office as a translator working with their office in Mexico. She went to Mexico City to visit the laboratory.
She was preceded on death by her parents; and her sisters, Mrs. Mary G. Guerrero and Miss Josafat Garcia.
She is survived by a sister, Maria N. Garcia; and many adopted nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jose Manuel Marquez, Matthew Bravo, Baltazar Murillo III, Lucas S. Molandes, Saul Medina, and Joe Paul Ballesteros.
Honorary pallbearers will be William Hewitt, Brian Cody Carbajal, Antonio Martinez, Nicholas Daniel Smith, and Jason Nichols.
The family expresses appreciation to Providence Hospital, Providence Hospital Third Floor Nursing Staff, Waco Meals on Wheels, and special thanks to the Waco Euterpian Music Club.
