Novella Roach Lane, 92 of Lorena went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Services will be 2pm Friday at Monte Vista Church of Christ in Waco. Michael and Patrick Pricer will officiate, burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 – 8pm on Thursday at OakCrest Funeral Home.
Novella was born in McGregor, Texas on November 2, 1914 to Fillmore and Lula Roach. She lived all of her life in and around the McGregor-Waco area. On November 19, 1932, she and Jesse B. Lane of McGregor, Texas were married in Gatesville, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband December 3, 1975. her sisters Cora Mae Norris, Eunice Cherry, Rosa Lee Saffel, and a brother, Ernest Roach.
She is survived by sister, Evelyn E. Holt of Waco. She was a second mom to surviving nieces and nephews, Nancy and Johnny Pricer of Lorena, Steve Holt of Lorena and Keith and Carri Holt of Plano, Elaine Holt of China Spring. She is also survived by nieces Jean McKamie of Moody, Thursa Akns and Billie Rose Nading of Montana and nephew Ernest Roach of Waco, 21 great nieces and nephews and 16 great, great nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
She was a member of the Church of Christ since she was 12 years old. She was daycare director for over 30 years touching the lives of countless children in the Waco area.
